Affiliated Activities of the Church

Ginger Hill UU is an active, and actively-growing congregation. Members and friends are involved in a variety of activities including:

Yoga

2010 Winter/Spring Session (January 11 - May 26)

Mondays 4:15-5:30 pm   -  Hatha Yoga, all levels
Tuesdays 9-10:15 am  -  Hatha Yoga, all levels
Wednesdays 4:15-5:30 pm  -  Hatha Yoga, all levels
Saturdays 9:30-10:45 am  -  Spiritflow Yoga, all levels

Join us as we experience the balance that hatha yoga brings to daily life.  The emphasis of the Hatha classes is on bringing energy and strength to the physical body, proper alignment in the poses, mental attunement to the body, the quality of the breath, and the release of tension.   Spiritflow incorporates chanting, seated meditation, and a more spiritual and devotional mindset than in our regular Hatha classes.  The poses will flow into and out of one another, at times allowing for improvisation.  Classes are geared toward all practitioners, from the basic beginner to the more experienced.   Equipment (mats, straps, blocks and blankets) will be available at each class.  Please wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely.

Mindfulness Mornings
Mindfulness Mornings will begin on Tuesday, September 15, with two practice options: the early practice will begin at 7:30 am and the later at 8:15 am.  Each session will last approximately 30 minutes, and you may attend one or both. Please know that if you have to leave a little early to make it to your next commitment on time, you are most welcome to do that.  We will begin meditating promptly at 7:30 and 8:15, so please plan to arrive a few minutes early so that you can be seated and ready to practice on time.

H.O.P.E.
H.O.P.E. stands for Haven Of Pagan Energy, and is an earth spirituality based covenant group of Ginger Hill. Our meetings are on a monthly basis to celebrate the changing of the seasons through ritual, discussion and other events pertinent to the specific celebration. We bring snacks to share and often follow with a drumming circle.  You do not have to be a church member to attend.  For further information about dates, go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HOPE_covenant/.
